hoods, by artist gavin wilson

Turning Inside Out-ness spirituality cloaked in the uncanny fetish. as above, so below....as outside, as within. formal self portraits of photography, drawing and sculpture that explore the costume of identity. the nature of the self. a second skin of ritual significance. bringing the inside, outside. self - re - enter. all of my work is very meticulous. everything is hand made and there is substantial research involved in a myriad of subjects.

About Me

My photo
allwhere
i am an artist living in NYC. i graduated from Art Center Collage of Design in Pasadena, Ca with a BFA in Fine Arts / Painting. from 1992-98 i co-owned and co- published blur magazine, a high end "fanzine" that explored the cultural overlap of everything from art, music, and comics to skateboarding and snowboarding. i have shown my art work in galleries and museums internationally. for years i had very distinct and separate groups of work that encompassed different mediums including drawing, photography and sculpture. i also have produced and created electronic music which has found its way onto film soundtracks and live performances in such venues as the Knitting Factory in NYC. recently the mediums of drawing, photography and sculpture are reflecting more common themes: incarnation constructs, models of reality or experience, consciousness (selfness) as the underlying reality of everything in the universe and how the self works itself into the natural universe.
